We have now firmed up more details of our exhibition (see 3 September update).

The main feature will be a display of photographs taken around the village during the early part of the 20th Century alongside similar views taken during the Year 2000 by society members. In addition there will be displays from around fifteen other Northamptonshire historical organisations as well as practical demonstrations taking place throughout the weekend. The very popular book “A Pictorial History of Brixworth” has been reprinted in response to numerous requests and copies will be on sale for as long as stocks last.

Opening times for the Exhibition are; Saturday 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. Sunday 10.00am to 4.00 pm. For more information contact me at 01604 880604; email brixworth_history_society@yahoo.co.uk

We are seeking more information on Brixworth’s Lords of the Manor since the death of William Thomas Vere Wayte Wood in 1949. It is believed that the present Lord of the Manor may be living in Canada. Information can be emailed to the above address.

The Society is pleased to conduct searches and provide information on Brixworth’s history and those researching their family history. It may be necessary to make a small charge for this service to non members to cover the work involved and the production of a report in which case you will be informed in advance.
